Ashley Alleman attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana from 2024-2026. As a former Elementary Education major, she planned to teach a lesson about shapes, but she wanted to connect the math concept to the local Cajun culture. She searched for a book that would do just that but could not find anything worthy, so she wrote "Cally the Crawfish Loves Shapes" specifically for her students! Ashley was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD in second grade. She wants everyone to know that they can do anything they put their mind to.
